In case you missed my excitement last week, I was beyond thrilled to have this shoot featured on the wonderful blog, The Wedding Chicks!

On Friday, I gave you guys part one of the shoot with Brooks and Bonnie. Today is the day: Part Two is HERE!

I was also sooo excited to get to shoot some of Dara’s beautiful new accessories that she is working on. She currently has an etsy store, but is re-branding and creating a whole new store. It will be launching this summer and will have wedding day accessories for him & her, so be on the lookout!
Here is a teaser of two of the great pieces!

The image above of Bonnie crawling on the ground is not a posed picture at all. I was going to do a ring shot of her BEAUTIFUL wedding bands and they slipped out of her hand when she took them off. We had a good laugh about it while we were sifting through the tall grass and then eventually had to call in for a metal detector. But we found the rings, well after the sun went down.
While waiting on the metal detector to arrive we had a little fun with off camera lighting and these beautiful parasols. They are perfect for any outdoor wedding or as a fun prop to have on a shoot. The wonderful Kristin at I Do Originals hooked us up with this hand painted LOVE parasol. The sun was pretty much GONE after the ring debacle but I love the look that I was able to achieve with the off camera lights. What do you think?

Me and Derek go way back….like all the way to 2007. I used to work at the greatest suglass boutique ever Solstice Sunglass Boutique, and Derek was the assistant manager. It was so much fun working there, probably because it never really felt like “work” and because of that crazy discount. It’s probably safe to assume that over half of my pay went to investing in quality eye wear. I say “investing” and “eye wear” because it sounds much more responsible than saying I blew all my money on designer sunglasses for dara and I, but that’s another story blog post. I will say that we still have boxes of “quality eye wear” including gucci, marc jacobs, ray ban, mosley tribes, dita, and oliver peoples; one can never have too many sunglasses.
After my time (and discount) at solstice ended, I still kept up with the crew, and heard the great news from Derek that he had started dating Jason. Dara and I met Jason and immediately loved him. He and Derek are perfect together and really compliment each other. We were so blessed to have them as guests to celebrate our wedding day in New Orleans and spent a few great nights at the wine loft together. When I was in Louisiana in March I had the pleasure of shooting these two. They were so easy to shoot and were super comfortable in front of the camera. And you can tell they were up for anything like running in a fountain together.
I had so much fun shooting Jason & Derek. Dara came along on the shoot to “help” which mainly consisted of making us all laugh. We had a great time in downtown Baton Rouge. Derek & Jason we miss you guys!

Today I celebrate the last day of being in my early twenties…..tomorrow morning, I’ll be waking up as a 24 year old and officially be in my mid twenties. Think about it: 20-23 is your early twenties, 24-26 is mid twenties; and 27-29 is late twenties. I know everyone must be on the edges of their seats wondering what I’m doing to celebrate this momentous last day of my early twenties. Well my friends, I’m working, sipping on lemon water, and maybe reading two magazines that came in the mail for me yesterday.
I’m also patiently waiting on my wonderful parents to arrive in the city. They are flying in from Houston for the weekend, and I couldn’t be happier. I haven’t seen them since Christmas (which seems like FOREVER ago). I’m a huge momma’s boy so I can’t wait to see her and cannot wait to see my dad on his first trip to NYC.

Happy weekend to everyone
