We had an amazing getaway to Philly this past weekend to celebrate our anniversary I also had the opportunity to second shoot a wedding with the super talented Andres Valenzuela (more to come on that later). I wanted to share a few highlights from the weekend in Philadelphia, and also my cake surprise to Dara. We had the honor of having the brilliant Tariq Hanna at Sucre make our wedding cake & groom’s cake. When we were packing up our house in Louisiana, we realized we wouldn’t be able to bring our cake on the big move to NYC so my mom took it back to Texas with her. I collaborated with my mom to ship the cake up to NYC for our first anniversary. Dara had completely forgot about it and was surprised to see it sitting on our table when she got home from work. I have to give a MAJOR thanks to my amazing mom for once again being awesome. The story of getting the cake here is another blog post in itself.
