I recently had a blast shooting a central park family portrait session with the Altounian Family. The Altounian’s came all the way from Texas to have a session with me (and maybe to watch their oldest daughter, Jessica, graduate from NYU). Okay, maybe it was the other way around. In fact, I’m pretty sure it was to see Jessica graduate from NYU because that’s kind of a BIG DEAL. We met at Lincoln Center right after the ceremony was over and walked through Central Park for two hours. It was a pleasure getting to know this family, laugh with them, and snap a few pictures along the way. They were so full of joy and it was a delight to capture them at such a great time in their lives.

Philadelphia Family Photographer | New York Family Portraits
When I got the email from Terry & Michael that they wanted me to photograph their family at their new home in Philadelphia, I was so excited! Dara & I were able to visit Philly in January for our one year anniversary and we really loved the city. So this time around, we made a mini vacation out of our visit, stayed at our favorite spot The Hotel Palomar, and even brought our four legged child LOLA. Dara came along with me for this fun family session (lola decided to sleep in at the hotel) and I cannot tell you how much she helped. She is so great with interacting with the children and giving direction (we don’t pose people very often). She also photographed with me, and a few of these are her shots. I am so blessed to have her work along side me!
We started out the session with this little guy. John was so easy, super happy, and ready for his closeup. I think he’s a natural in front of the camera.
Michael really loves Thomas the Train and wanted his favorite train book to be a part of the shoot. I absolutely love it when people include some personal items that help tell the story of who they are. It could be a favorite toy or book for kids, or for an engagement session maybe incorporating the picnic basket used during your park proposal.
Like John, Rory was also thrilled to be in front of the camera and was such a great model. Dara got her to do a few spins in her pretty dress, and she totally worked it!
Then we had a fun family picnic in the backyard.

I’m in love with this session. The location was beautiful, the golden sunlight, open fields, old barns, wow. I love it when I ask a client if they have a location in mind and they pick a KILLER location. I met with Melissa a couple of hours before this session to scout out the location. After we met, I went back to the home where I was staying for the week to take a nap (which I never do, but I had an early morning engagement session in New Orleans that morning). I couldn’t sleep. I was too excited about the shoot and could NOT stop visualizing shots in my head. I had a blast at the shoot and even more fun going through all the images. It was so tough to narrow it down for the blog, but here are some of my favorites:
Funny story behind these poses….these girls are so much fun!
Landon LOVES his dogs…this was one of the last images I shot of the day. When I get my studio space, this will be hanging on a big canvas on my wall!
The Berner Family | NYC Family Photographer
Talk about a fun family….I had a blast hanging out with the Berner family and they were so easy to photograph. I think the highlight of my day was Brady dancing a little to Beyonce’s Single Ladies. Brad & Kristy you have two of the cutest kids ever. Thank you again for being so much fun to work with!
LSU Family Session | New York City / Baton Rouge Family Photographer
How cute is this family? I met up with Tommy & Shannon and their three beautiful children on the LSU campus to photograph this awesome family!
Tyler, Thomas & Lily Ruth were so much fun to shoot, and I can tell how much these kids love each other and their parents!
Tommy & Shannon…it was so great meeting you and your beautiful family, and being back on the LSU campus!
The Brabham Family | NYC Family Photography
What can I say about the Brabham family besides the fact that they are a beautiful family, with a love for life, laughter, each other and a love for Christ that is evident in their daily lives. I’ve known the Brabham’s for most of my life and have know Mrs. Tamara since she taught me in Jr. High (**cough** and sent me to the office for my one and only visit to the principal in my entire life). But I will save the expo marker drama for another blog post…haha. That being said, they are such a great family and I was so excited to photograph them at their home in Amite, La. It’s such a beautiful property (made even better thanks to the rhinoceros tree) and I could have stayed for hours. I’m so excited for Sierah and her upcoming wedding that will take place at their home in the fall of 2010 (ahhh that’s this year!) It’s going to be so beautiful!
Ronnie, Tamara, Sierah & Emma: I want to thank you so much from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to capture you all. I had so much fun; time flew by! I want to wish you the happiest new year filled with lots of love and joy!
Kenlea’s Christmas Shoot | NYC Children & Family Photography
On my trip south to Louisiana I had the pleasure of shooting a session with one of the cutest little girls I have ever met. We shot at in Kentwood at their home with green pastures, horses and cows (a change from what I’m used to here in NYC, but I absolutely loved it). Kenlea was so easy to photograph. She LOVED the camera and with the help of her mom and dad, grandparents, Aunt Jansen, and cousin Cullyn we got some great shots! Brennan & Dustin: Thank you so much for letting me photograph your little girl!

This one was my absolute favorite from the session. I was shooting from inside the trailer while Brennan played Peek-A-Boo with Kenlea. Such a sweet shot!
Sharp Family | NYC Family Photographer
I recently flew south to the great state of Louisiana to shoot some sessions for the holidays, and got an unexpected surprise. On Friday evening, it began to snow…IN LOUISIANA! This rarely happened when I was growing up, and just last year it snowed right before Christmas. So for Louisiana to get two years of snow in a row is a BIG deal.
The snow was perfect for my session with the Sharp family. We had so much freezing fun shooting in the snow and of course had to end it all with a snowball fight!
Fenster Family | NYC Family Photographer
I had such a great time shooting this family session for the Fenster Family. It was just after Henry’s 2nd birthday, and he was such a sweet kid to photograph. I expected him to be shy around me at first, but after meeting briefly, Henry took off on his tricycle. What happened next? Just little frolicking in the leaves, snacking on jelly beans, scooting around Rockefeller Park on his tricycle, and a crazy jam session on his harmonica. Henry is a cool dude. It was so fun to meet Megan and Lee, explore Rockefeller Park, and shoot such a fun family!
